Chateaux DuMont
Our third visit and stay at Chateaux DuMont was special. We love Keystone and especially these accommodations and wanted to share it with our family. Christmas was the perfect time! We rented two units in these ski in-ski out condos, one for our family with the grandparents and another for my two brothers and their families. We could all walk right out the front door to ski, go to the ski school, watch the grandkids learn to ski and meet for a family lunch between runs. The kids favorite time was hot tub time with each unit having its own hot tub room right off the living room. After an amazing week of skiing, learning to snowboard, nights of cooking and playing games together and celebrating the magic of a white Christmas, we had one day left to enjoy and be together. We all meet for lunch at the top of the mountain to play in the frozen castle and have a family photo. On the last run down the mountain, my husband, a new inductee to the sport of snowboarding, decided to try his first blue run. All went well until half way down when he hit a bump and landed hard on his shoulder. When he stood up to take off his board, I knew the way his arm was hanging was not good. One fast trip to the bottom pulled by the ski patrol confirmed that his collar bone was broken in 5 places. Once again, we were very thankful for our amazing condo. We were staying in the unit closest to the infirmary, literally. One short walk back to our unit, a long night of little sleep, one flight home the next morning and a 3 hour surgery the next day had my husband back in one piece. We were thankful for our wonderful family time and glad we stayed at the best place on the mountain! We love Keystone and adore Chateaux DeMont.
