Springs
Jacob's first time skiing was Spring Break 2010 at Loveland with the church youth group. He absolutely loved it! The following year we no longer had a youth pastor so there wouldn't be a trip but I decided to take him and his friend Jake for a quick ski trip to celebrate his 16th birthday. We went to Keystone but stayed in a hotel in Dillon. Jacob wanted to invite Grandma Naomi, who was super excited to be asked to attend, and Jake's mom Chris. This was MY first trip to the beautiful state of CO. I was in love immediately and knew we would return every year if possible. Us ladies loved River Run village for the shopping and food while the boys skied. We each got Gondola passes and rode up and down the mountain several times. The scenery is absolutely breath taking and peaceful.
Our second trip to Keystone was Spring break 2012. We stayed in a condo and I still had to drive them back & forth to the lifts but we were closer to the action. This trip included Jacob, Jake, Grandma, myself and another friend Zach. The condo was a little small but still had everything we needed and allowed us to "bond" in the evenings. Jacob, Jake, my daughter Lauren and I visited Keystone again in November for a long weekend. This was our first time staying in a condo ran by SkyRun. We stayed in The Springs and absolutely loved it!! We will not stay any other place ever again. The boys could walk back & forth to the Gondola and us ladies could walk over to the village as many times as we wanted. Our longest and best trip was this last Spring Break. Again at Keystone and The Springs with Skyrun as our home away from home. Another group followed us this year and the skiers would come to our condo for meals or to rest during the afternoon. We had first timers and a couple who hadn't skied for years along with the same boys from previous trips. They were all exhausted by the time we left. I fear Spring Break 2013 was our last trip for this particular group. The original boys have all graduated from high school and went to college. I know they have memories they will cherish, as I do. I'm thankful that we were able to make the trips that we did. I grew up in a family that didn't take vacations. We'd go camping once in awhile or I'd get to spend a week or two at grandmas but never to another state. When I stop and think about all the people I've brought to Keystone and Skyrun, I can only pray that each of them loved it half as much as I did. I know I will return as often as I can and family vacations will continue for me and my kids and someday my grandkids. Thank you SkyRun for the beautiful condos that you offer all over and the excellent customer service. I'm hoping to get to use one of your condos in Orlando soon. Michelle Arnold Bennington, KS |
